STOP Doing These things on and off Social Media

Social media is a good thing and has come to stay.

So many people use it for various reasons. While we find some of the contents and content producers on social media interesting, some others can actually spoil your experience online when they constantly do these things. Here are some habits people always display on social that needs to be dropped like hot coal

👉🏽 Showing us your food on social media :

Except you are a food / recipe blogger, you don't have to constantly tell us what you had for breakfast, launch and dinner. I understand you might want to share with us your experience tasting a foreign dish for the first time but constantly posting pictures and videos of you eating is quite a no for most people and that could make you lose your organic subscribers.

👉🏽 Twerking :

So you got a great behind right?, twerking is something most people frown at especially if they find it offensive, not to mention the fact that some people do it around little children. Social media platforms such as Instagram, twitter and snapchat have seen a flood of these ladies and some guys ( yuck), whose only content is to shake it 24/7. I strongly believe that you were gifted with more creativity than that and the twerking niche is already over flogged.

👉🏽 Body Shaming :

Your dream physique is someone else's nightmare and that's a fact. People need to stop awful and annoying comments about people's bodies on social media. You've got flat abs so what? , you are fat so what?. Irrespective of your tallness or shortness, you must appreciate your body and stop using yourself as a standard for how others should look like. Learn to respect how other people look like and if you have an opinion, try keeping it to yourself.

👉🏽 Racism :

One of the beautiful things about the Human race is our diversity. No one race is better than the other. We are all equal and unique in several ways, known and unknown. Racists are uninformed people with low self esteem whose only source of happiness is by making others feel bad about their skin color. We have all heard the popular saying "We all have red blood under our skin". So irrespective of whether you are White, Black, brown, multicolored or colourless (do such people exist 😀), we all bleed red when we are cut.

👉🏽 Disrespecting people with a different opinion from yours :

During elections, sporting events, health debates, movies/music etc, you will always find people who take things too personal and go as far as attacking those who have a different view about what ever event is happening. Insult missiles fly across cyber space to political opponents, sport fans of the other team, etc. People need to respect the opinion of others. They have a right to express theirs just like you too. We all don't have to agree, what matters is that we move forward as a society, irrespective of our differences. And always remember to keep it matured and civil. It pays to watch your language.

👉🏽 Plagiarism :

It is always annoying to come up with a beautiful idea such as a creative saying, an art, a story etc, only for someone to take credit for your work just because they happen to be more popular on social media and decide to steal your idea and pass it off as their own. Some of the songs you've heard by popular musicians, the tweets you see by some influencers were actually taken from someone who isn't known yet and its not fair when the real owner sings or tweets about it, only for people to claim he/she imitated, when in actual fact he/she is the brain behind the idea. If you do not own it, don't take credit for it.

👉🏽 Doing crazy stuff just to go viral :

The Internet is full of people who have done stuff that got millions of views on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc such as wild stunts, eating weird stuff etc. Kudos to them but they're some who were not so lucky, these are the ones who ended up in a hospital or died after their stunt failed. There is no point trying to take a selfie in a dangerous spot or playing with very dangerous animals only to become popular in death and later forgotten. Use your head when doing such things. Your life is more important and valuable than a hashtag.
